Stephen (aka Steve) Cole is a best-selling author for children and young adults whose sales exceed three million copies. His hugely successful Astrosaurs young fiction series has been a UK top-ten children's bestseller and been published widely internationally. A fantasy, comedy and adventure writer, Steve's work includes a broad range of novels, such as Stop Those Monsters! and Secret Agent Mummy for younger readers. His original fiction titles for Doctor Who were also top-ten bestsellers. In 2014 Steve was chosen by Ian Fleming Publications to succeed Charlie Higson as the writer for Young Bond, a series which follows the adventures of the teenage James Bond with four novels following. Steve Cole's book and magazine work also includes TV and film tie-ins, non-fiction, comics and educational titles.
In his earlier publishing career Steve worked with the Estates of Enid Blyton and Agatha Christie, and as a Special Development Editor at BBC Worldwide as well as commissioning in house at Penguin and Simon and Schuster. Much in demand for his performances at events (both in the UK and internationally), he has appeared at Edinburgh, Hay, Bath and Sharjah Festivals, YALC and World Book Day’s Biggest Book Show on Earth. He has toured schools in Europe, America, the UAE, Australia and New Zealand and featured at Doctor Who and other sci-fi conventions from London to Los Angeles.
A supporter of the reading charity Beanstalk, Steve lives in Buckinghamshire with his wife and two children.
