Sam Llewellyn is an accomplished author of adult and children’s books. Since 2010 he has been the Editor of the Marine Quarterly, a journal of the sea. The object of the MQ is to print stories and articles about the seas, as it is seen from the sea and parts of the land visible from the sea.
He writes a novel most years. He also writes for the Daily Telegraph, is a columnist for Practical Boat Owner, Classic Boat, Hortus and Broad Sheep magazines and the RYA website, and is a sought-after public speaker.
The skill and range of Sam’s writing extends to his work for children. His hilarious Little Darlings was inspired by a life-long hatred of Peter Pan; Lyonesse is a proto-Arthurian epic set in the British Atlantis. He lives in a medieval wreck in the Welsh Marches, visits schools, lectures on maritime topics, and spends as much time as possible at sea.
