Deborah Lawrenson spent her childhood moving around the world from Kuwait to China, Belgium, Luxembourg and Singapore. She is the author of The Art of Falling which was chosen for the prestigious WHSmith Fresh Talent promotion. She lives between Kent and a crumbling hamlet in Provence, France, which is the atmospheric setting for her book, The Lantern which was selected for Channel 4's TV Book Club. Her most recent novels include The Sea Garden, which was published in 2014 by Orion and 300 Days of Sun, which came out in 2016 with Harper Collins.
