Adam Williams, whose family has lived in China since the late nineteenth century, was born and raised in Hong Kong. For the last eighteen years he has been representative in Beijing of a Far East trading conglomerate. He is the writer of a highly acclaimed trilogy of historical novels set in China: The Palace of Heavenly Pleasure, The Emperor’s Bones and The Dragon’s Tail. In 1999 he received an OBE for services to Sino-British trade. In 2013 Adam Williams became the second international author (after Gabriel Garcia Marquez) to reach number 1 on China's major book retailer chart, Dang Dang Wang.
