Chris Baréz-Brown is on a mission: to bring creativity, energy and engagement to the business world. After helping turn Carling Black Label into the first British billion pound brand, he joined the innovation agency ?What If!, helping some of the world's most successful businesses to galvanise innovation and deliver impact. Determined to inject more humanity back into business, Chris founded Upping Your Elvis in 2009 where he continues to help businesses change by training people to unleash their inner creativity and shine more brightly. In 2014 he co-founded Street Wisdom – a modern, urban, accessible route to mindfulness. He is the author of three best-selling books; How to Have Kick Ass Ideas (HarperCollins, 2012), Shine (Penguin, 2011), and his latest, Wake Up! Escaping a Life on Autopilot (Penguin Life, 2016) published in 2017 alongside Wake Up! the app. Chris also writes monthly columns for GQ and British Airways Business Life Magazine and runs legendary workshops from his home in Dorset helping businesses such as MediaCom, ITV and Unilever become more creative, productive and inspired.
What the audience can expect
Chris’ uncanny ability to inspire infuses his talks and he has received wildly positive responses from a range of audiences, including The Do Lectures, TedX and the world’s largest leadership event, Leadercast, where he also interviewed Apple’s Steve Wozniak live on stage. He specialises in helping people reconnect with their inner genius. According to Chris, a happier team is more engaged at work and able to focus on practices that will make a difference.
He combines an eclectic professional background including time in the army, brand management, innovation and leadership development, with his fascination for people and the more esoteric practices of Reiki, meditation and hypnotherapy. All of which make his take on work refreshing, simple and inspiring.
Chris is flexible in meeting the exact needs of his audience and draws on his best-selling books to help people break their tired work habits and become more engaged with life at work and at home. He aims to fire up fresh thinking in leaders and their teams; by sharing simple, everyday practices and instilling in his audience the confidence to take risks and do things differently. Clients frequently call upon his unique and energetic approach to revitalise their employees' passion for Monday mornings.
